"Spring Forward in Style"

I was afforded the opportunity to be featured in the April/Spring Edition of Kentucky Bride Magazine. This was my first publication so this shoot was very special to me. It was an editorial shoot that featured breath taking floral arrangements and beautiful Maria Elena headpieces. Not your typical spring bridal style, but still beautiful nonetheless. My day started at Shelly Fortune Event Design at Seventh + Lime, a beautiful space that we used to get ready and prepare for the photo shoot.

Next, my make up was done by Pamela Butler with the Beauty Patrol. She used beautiful copper tones to highlight my face and gave me a bold eye complete with a beautiful turquoise under eye shadow. She finished the look with a metallic gloss. The look was definitely bold and complimented the headpiece well.

My hair was styled by the beautiful Brooke Meadows with the Beauty Patrol. She added a braid on the side and enhanced my already curly hair texture with Mr Smith hair serum & creme. She placed the Maria Elena jeweled cap on my head and I felt like a queen. Every part of the headpiece was intricately designed with florals and jewels...I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Definitely my style and complimented the simplicity of the dress well.

The dress I am wearing can be found at Couture Closet in LaGrange, KY. It is a Lillian West gown that featured a plunge neckline with mesh and beautiful flouncy sleeves. I instantly fell in love the the simplicity and beauty of this dress.

After getting dressed we drove over to our shooting location which was the Clerestory at Greyline. The Clerestory is a former bus depot which has been transformed to an event space. The layout was fresh, elevated and the lighting was AMAZING. Inside there were 3 different areas set up with jaw dropping floral displays.

The display I shot in front of was created by Fields in Bloom. It featured beautiful pastel florals and greenery that draped down a gold screen. The display also had lit candles on the floor which gave it a romantic feel. It was freezing that day, but the images that were captured definitely do not show that. The photographer Lyndsey Boyd did an excellent job pulling everything together for a beautiful editorial shoot. It was short and sweet and was definitely a moment that I will never forget. I would like to give a big thank you to the magazine owners Kate & Sandy for allowing me to be a part of this.
